This is an early reminder about holiday mailing dates as they’re a day or so earlier than last year. Our office has been closed this year and I’m shipping orders from either Consortium/Ingram’s warehouse or occasionally by me or, more often, the excellent booksellers of Book Moon.

I am usually a proponent of ground shipping. Don’t choose next day or 2nd day: keep stuff off planes and on trains and trucks. However, holiday shipping is a different beastie.

Media mail shipping is included free on all orders. However, there is no “last mailing date” for media mail. If the truck is full, media mail packages wait for the next one. If it’s really busy, and it usually is, those packages will arrive after the holidays. If you don’t care, yay! If you want to guarantee pre-holiday arrival, please choose Priority Mail.

These are the USPS shipping deadlines so please order by December 15th for holiday shipping, thank you!

Here’s my annual reminder that holiday mail dates are coming up fast. Our office will be closed as usual from December 21 – January 2, 2023. (Of course, Weightless is always open.)

Media mail shipping is free. However, as per our usual warnings, the USPS doesn’t even give a last mailing date for media mail packages as they’re the last ones put on a truck. If the truck’s full, the media mail packages are put aside for the next one. And so on. If it’s really busy, those packages may arrive after the holidays. If you don’t care, yay! If you want to guarantee pre-holiday arrival, please choose Priority Mail.

Free upgrade to Priority Mail shipping

We always include free domestic Media Mail shipping for Small Beer Press orders but from NOW until December 20th we’re going to upgrade that: all domestic book orders will be automatically upgraded to Priority Mail shipping. This only applies to US domestic orders as international prices have, as we all know, gone nuts in the last few years, sorry. See Weightless for excellent worldwide ebook prices.
