you post a pic of Under the Poppy in a Borders bookstore!

1. Alas, the nearest Borders is 45 minutes away in the wrong direction (well, wrong to be snapping a pic of Under the Poppy in the next 24 hours)!
2. My MLIS program has a class on Y/A literature, and “Magic for Beginners” is on the syllabus as recommended for the week they read short stories (I’m hoping to take the class; I’ve already read 1/3 of the books on the syllabus, and I’ll read the rest whether I take the class or not.
3. Will contributor copies of the 2011 Working Writer Day Planner be sent out soon?
But then again …
Here it is in the Borders Bookstore at Barboursville, WV. Hooray! (In the literature section)
Heather, awesome: you are winner #4! We’ll try and find a book you don’t have to send you.
Yay for your class reading Kelly’s book!
The Daily Planner is going out — the contributor’s copies got delayed by the silliest thing: I had to order new checks! Which have now arrived . . . for now the checks and the Planners are in 2 different places but by next week I should be able to get into the office and send them out.
Oh yay! (I couldn’t resist the challenge, distance be darned!) I have to say that I’ve been generally impressed with the variety of books available at the Barboursville, WV Borders – somebody there makes sure they get in independently published & more obscure titles..
The only recent Small Beer Press book I have is Meeks, I think (and Stories of Your Life & others, which was purchased for my computer nerd partner – he loved the new cover!).
I mistyped earlier; the book on the syllabus for the Y/A class is Pretty Monsters, but any book of Kelly’s on a librarian’s syllabus is awesome, in my opinion
Thanks for the response about the Daily Planner – I’ve been trying to wait patiently to see my photos in print (one of my photos is also published on a placemat in a truckstop in Jane Lew, WV! I’ll have to go there) and to peruse all the excellent info in the day planner. My friend who just started an MFA program in writing for children and young adults asked me about the planner the other day; I’ll show her mine, and no doubt she will have to dash out and buy her own.
