I’m a pretty damn big one
I’d be willing to call myself a Geoff Ryman superfan. I found _Lust_ to be pretty mind-blowing. I guess the basis for the most simple SFnal conceits is daydreams. And being able to have sex with whomever you want is probably the most frequent and simple daydream. I was amazed that I’d never seen someone use it in a novel.
I’m a big fan, certainly, but I wonder what exactly constitutes superfandom. King’s Last Song cosplay?
Um, surely I’ve told you about my secret crush on Geoff Ryman?
Sorry to leave the question and disappear! So: here’s the real question, which Kelly above already knows about: how do you feel about retyping up a part of one of his older works so that we can bring it/them back into print? I’m happy to keep talking here or by email at gavin @ lcrw .net.
Those who are too busy (I’m looking at some of you —including the Lexingtonian here!) get to enjoy knowing the books are (with luck and some huge amount of help) coming back into print.
If you’re still looking for helpers come the end of September, I would love to take part – I’ll be unemployed, so plenty of spare hours for typing away. Obviously, not so much free time currently while travelling round Asia.
I am a Ryman superfan! I was so psyched that I got to meet him and discuss things at WisCon!
